Traditional lists win at fast capture

A familiar checklist is hard to beat when you need to record ideas quickly, maintain a backlog, or see many independent items in one place. It asks very little of you and works well when sequence does not matter.

Long lists make every item compete

The weakness appears at execution time. When every unfinished task has similar visual weight, choosing the next action becomes recurring work. Reordering priorities can also hide the reason one task should follow another.
